Lisa’s Music

Lisa Keyz’s lifelong love of music began at an early age, when she first discovered her passion for piano and singing. Mentored by acclaimed Alabama instructors Rip Reagan and George McSpadden, Lisa built a strong foundation in both musical technique and performance artistry — a foundation that continues to shape her work today in Houston, Texas. Lisa is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as an Associate of Arts in Piano Performance. As a dedicated music teacher in Houston, she provides private piano and vocal lessons to multiple students each week, guiding them toward technical mastery, creative expression, and confidence on stage. Her students have gone on to study at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including Jacksonville State University (JSU) and Berklee College of Music. Beyond her teaching studio, Lisa contributes to the national music education community as Awards Chair for the Alabama Music Teachers Association and Composition Chair for the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Whether performing, teaching, or mentoring, Lisa Keyz continues to share her passion for music and her commitment to excellence with the Houston arts community.

Lisa Keyz is a highly sought-after professional pianist and vocalist in Houston, Texas. With a dynamic career spanning over two decades, she performs regularly at concert venues, universities, jazz clubs, and private events throughout the Southeast and Texas region. Her impressive performance history includes appearances at The Club: Birmingham, The Pitman Theatre, The Alabama Theatre, and numerous corporate events, weddings, and memorial services. Lisa’s versatility and artistry allow her to move seamlessly between genres — from classical and jazz to contemporary and pop, creating memorable performances for every audience. In addition to her solo and ensemble work, Lisa previously served as the Collaborative Pianist for the Pell City High School Choirs, directed by Nate Burch. This year, Lisa is excited to serve as the Collaborative Pianist for the Cypress Woods High School Choirs, directed by Jenae Aguirre. For the 2025 Holiday season, Lisa will be performing with the Houston Show Choir, directed by Jennifer Agbu. She frequently collaborates with local choirs, orchestras, and chamber groups, further showcasing her skill as a dynamic and expressive musician.
