Lisa Higginbotham, NCTM, BS, RPT

Lisa Higginbotham is a talented, professional pianist and vocalist hailing from Birmingham, Alabama. She has been playing and singing for over 20 years and has established herself as a respected performer and educator in the region. Lisa’s musical style is characterized by her technical precision and emotional depth. She is known for her ability to convey the nuances of a piece, bringing out its unique character and beauty. Her repertoire spans from classical to contemporary, and she is always exploring new ways to push the boundaries of her art.

Lisa’s love of music began at a young age, and she quickly developed a passion for the piano and singing. She began her career under the guidance of Rip Reagan and George McSpadden, the two most infamous music instructors from Gadsden, Alabama. Lisa holds the distinctive title of Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, a BS in Education, and an AA in Piano Performance. Lisa privately coaches over 30 students throughout the week. She has students at Universities all over the United States, for JSU to Berkeley. Lisa also serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Music Teachers Association as Awards Chair and Composition Chair.

Lisa is the Music Director, Kids’ Choir Director, and Principal Pianist at Flow Church, Ashville, Alabama. She regularly performs at The Club Inc. (the oldest supper club in Birmingham), the Pitman Theatre, the Alabama Theatre, all of the major universities, many jazz clubs, funerals, weddings, and other private events all across the southeast. Lisa is also the Collaborative Pianist for the Pell City High School Choirs, under the direction of Mr. Nate Burch. She regularly collaborates with local choirs, orchestras, and chamber groups, showcasing her versatility as a musician.

When she’s not playing the piano, Lisa enjoys exercising, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is also an advocate for music education and believes that everyone should have access to the transformative power of music. Lisa is committed to sharing her love of music with others and inspiring the next generation of musicians in Alabama and beyond.
